How Does SUPLIH Subdivide Its Coordination Structure Nationwide?
To effectively implement its mission and remain connected with communities, SUPLIH has established a decentralized coordination system designed to operate at multiple territorial and international levels.
This structure allows SUPLIH to maintain direct communication with citizens, identify local needs, coordinate community initiatives, and ensure that the organization’s vision and programs are effectively implemented wherever Haitian communities are located.
The Coordination structure is organized as follows:
1. National Coordination
The National Coordination serves as the highest coordination structure within Haiti. It provides strategic leadership, ensures alignment with SUPLIH’s mission and constitution, and supervises the implementation of programs throughout the country.
Responsibilities include:
- Establishing national strategies and priorities.
- Supporting District coordinations.
- Ensuring consistency in SUPLIH programs and policies.
- Coordinating national partnerships and development initiatives.
2. District Coordination
District Coordinations represent SUPLIH within Haiti’s is responsible to coordinate and supervise the regional coordination. Suplih subdivided the country in 2 districts (North and South) each districts have 5 departments. For instance, the North District has: North, Northeast, Northwest, Central and Artibonite. The South District has: West, South, Southeast. Nippes, Grand-Anse. In this coordination the coordonators serve has delegue in for the regional coordination’s meeting in order to keep credible reports to the regional branches.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising regionals coordination.
- Identifying regional coordination’s needs.
- Supporting community projects.
- Preparing reports and recommendations for regional leadership.
3. Regional Coordination
Regional Coordination serve as an intermediate structure between the District Coordination and Department Coordination. There are four regional coordination. Two south regional and two north regional coordination.
In the South regional coordination for region one, SUPLIH has West and Southeast.
In the North regional coordination for region two, SUPLIH has South, Nippes and Grand Anse.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting departmental coordination.
- Coordinating regional development initiatives.
- Sharing resources and expertise among communities.
- Monitoring the implementation of SUPLIH programs.
4. Departmental Coordination
Departmental Coordination represent SUPLIH within Haiti’s all major areas that make up the country. The departmental coordination is responsible to coordinate and supervise the Arrondisement coordination. In these coordination, the coordinators serve has delegate for the regional coordination’s meeting in order to keep credible reports to the regional branches.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising arrondismental coordination.
- Identifying arrondismental’s coordination’s needs.
- Supporting community projects.
- Preparing reports and recommendations for regional leadership.
5. Arrondissement Coordination
The Arrondissement Coordination serves as a local administrative bridge between departmental leadership and commune-level structures. It helps organize community actions, coordinate resources, and support the implementation of SUPLIH programs at a more local level.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting commune coordinations.
- Facilitating communication between communities and higher structures.
- Coordinating local projects and activities.
6. Commune Coordination
The Commune Coordination represents the closest level of SUPLIH’s structure to the population. It is the grassroots structure responsible for understanding community realities, identifying challenges, mobilizing citizens, and implementing SUPLIH initiatives locally. The commune coordination is consider as the entry level for all new members who wish to join our initiative, and be part of our leadership team strategy preset by the organization to prepare new member to be successful in our journey.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging directly with citizens.
- Identifying community needs.
- Organizing education and awareness programs.
- Implementing SUPLIH projects.
- Reporting challenges and opportunities to higher coordination levels.
The Commune Coordination is the foundation of SUPLIH’s decentralized model because it ensures that the voice of every community member is heard.
7. International Coordination
SUPLIH extends its coordination structure beyond Haiti to countries where Haitian communities reside.
International Coordinations represent SUPLIH within the Haitian diaspora and support the organization’s mission through community engagement, services, partnerships, and development initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting Haitian immigrants in host countries.
- Promoting SUPLIH programs internationally.
- Connecting diaspora resources with Haitian development projects.
- Building partnerships with organizations and institutions abroad.
